Nickels and dimes

My impression of Western New York is that things will be more expensive than I thought on this trip, just because it is the East Coast. I have been spoiled by the cost of living in the Midwest. I was happy to have paid $2.08 per gallon of gas in the Columbus suburbs when I filled up the Highlander for the trip. Gas on the NY State Thruway is averaging $2.70. Oh, and I guess I better get used to toll roads, too. $3.00 for 60 miles. Don't we pay taxes for these things? And the cool pedestrian bridge over the highway at the Angola, NY service center was not worth paying twice the price for hamburgers at McDonalds. I better get the complaining about prices out of my system now, because Boston and NYC are in our future!!!!
